Blair Athol 23 Year Old Single Cask by Signatory (Cask 3426)
Tasting Note by Our Malt Master
Normally use for blends like Bell and Jonnie Walker, this single malt is usually show up as a sherry single malt with their original bottling. Rarely you can see one that is mature in hogshead show up in the market. With 23 years in this whisky, you should prepare your palate for a complex ride with this dram.
AVB: 54.6
Maturation: Hogshead
Chill-Filtration: Yes
Nose: Very sweet and fruity. Banana, orange, pineapple, tangerine, starfruit, vanilla, honey and dried flowers. It is like a fruit bomb exploded right in front of you.
Palate: Oily and with a bit of tannin. This dram is very sweet indeed. Honeysuckle, malt, grain, cereal, mixed spice, mellowoak with fruit all over the background. A complex one for your palate.
Finish: Long and smooth. Honey, ginger, cedar, mint tea. Great dram and one you should take your time to enjoy.
